Community College Leaders Enhance Emotional Intelligence Skills
The President and fourteen senior administrators of a community college participated in my Building Resilience and Agility™ By Developing Emotional Intelligence Skills program. Overall the administrators and the college realized some significant and beneficial results as indicated by the final report.
Program events included completion of a Personal Goal Setting packet, a confidential goal-setting interview, 2.5-days of group training, daily and weekly email reminders, 2 coaching sessions, and individual impact interviews with each administrator about a month and a half after the training.
A psychometric survey called the Personal and Organizational Quality Assessment (POQA) was one of the methods used to evaluate the program. The POQA is composed of personal and organizational constructs. Participants completed the pre-survey about 3 weeks before the training and the post-survey about a month after the training. Administrators also reported substantial improvements in their General Health and in evaluation of their analog stress:

Individual interviews with each administrator was another method used to evaluate program effectiveness. Each administrator provided percentage estimates about how much he or she had improved in each of seventeen personal goals.
