EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE PROGRAM COMPONENTS

Why The Emotional Intelligence Training Program is Successful for Individuals and Organizations

Our program focuses on creating significant, sustainable results through a comprehensive approach, which produces a high ROI. This is not just a "training event" whose results last for only a short time.

Our program consists of individual and group assessments, pre-training goals and objectives sessions with each participant, followed by a combination of interactive workshop sessions and individualized application-coaching follow-up. Tools and techniques are taught that are immediately applied to work, home and personal situations.

Following is a list of components that may be included in a program:

Phase I: Planning and Program Goal Setting

  • Planning Sessions - We work with the program sponsor/champion to understand your needs/issues, short and long-term goals and to determine the measures that will be used to evaluate the program. We want to understand the existing culture, organizational values, relevant history and your annual department goals.

Phase II: Program Preparation and Pre-Measurement

  • Introductory Session - Participants are briefed on the purpose and format of the program. They learn the foundation of the Emotional Intelligence competency model and brain and heart science underlying techniques taught in the program.
  • Group Measurement - The Personal and Organizational Quality Assessment - Revised (POQA-R) survey is completed by individuals. Group responses are tabulated.
  • Individual Measurement - The Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI™) 360º assessment is recommended for Managers, Directors, and Executives. Individual comprehensive reports are provided based on responses.
  • ECI Individual Coaching Session - Participants individually meet with the facilitator to discuss their 360º assessment results and discuss the relationship of areas of improvement to specific personal goals for the program.
  • Personal Goal-Setting - Participants select their personal goals and identify specific relationships/situations to be improved as a result of applying skills developed in the training.
  • Goal-Setting Interviews - A few weeks before the training phase, participants meet individually with the facilitator and discuss their personal goals and objectives for the program.

Phase III: Skill Development Workshop and Individual Coaching

  • Workshop - Sessions consist of lecturettes, practice of each technique on real work and personal issues, individual reflective exercises, action and experiential activities, paired and small group interaction. Format, sequencing and length of each workshop day is determined by your objectives.
  • Individualized Coaching - 1 to 1.5 hour sessions are scheduled within the first 2 months after the workshop sessions. The number of coaching sessions and frequency depend on goals and individual needs.
  • Email Reminder Tips - Sent for 3 weeks; weekly tips continue indefinitely.

Phase IV: Mid and Post-Program Measurements and Assessments

  • POQA-R - Administered about 1 month after the workshop.
  • Impact Interviews - Each person completes a written questionnaire and interview (confidential and anonymous), to assess use of the techniques and impact on personal goals.

Phase V: Summary Report and Debrief Meeting

  • Summary Report - Includes comparative data for pre and post training measures, personal goals, participant benefit responses, other key department measures, and conclusions and recommendations.
  • Debrief Meeting - Held with the sponsor/champion to report results and evaluate progress toward program goals.

Phase VI: Reinforcement and Team Application Sessions

  • Reinforcement - two to four-hour session(s) typically scheduled three to six months after the workshop. Number of sessions and frequency depends on participant use of techniques and request.
  • Team Application - two to four-hour session(s) designed to demonstrate and practice team use of techniques on real team issues/challenges.
